Smoky Quartz is a member of the Quartz family, its smoky dark colourings the result of activated aluminum. Smoky Quartz is thought to be a master crystal - a very protective and grounding stone, believed to remove and transmute negative energy. Calcium Sulfate, or satin spar, is formed due to evaporation along hot springs and clay. Selenite has a tabular crystal structure, with striations running its length.
