Serpentine refers to a group of crystals, such as Chrysotile, Atlantisite, Antigorite, Lizardite, Greenstone, and Infinite, metamorphosed at convergent plate boundaries where an oceanic plate is pushed down into the mantle. Mostly presenting in green colour tones, with a waxy lustre, Serpentine is valued as for its insulation properties - its ability to resist heat makes it an excellent cooling tool for the face. Serpentine is believed to assist with meditation and astral travel and it thought to help protect from negative energies or entities.
