Pietersite is a rare variety of Chalcedony, and a member of the Quartz family, a silicified Riebeckite with Limonite. The colors range from blue to black with brown and gold with sporadic chatoyancy and a brecciated structure. Pietersite is believed to open the third eye and solar plexis chakra, encouraging intuition, determination and self-expression. Also associated with the higher realms and psychic ability, Pietersite is believed to activate inner knowing and alignment with the higher self.
