Labradorite occurs in mafic igneous rocks and is a calcium rich feldspar variety known for its iridescence or labradorescence. Labradorization is the peculiar reflection of the light from submicroscopical planes. As light travels through the 'scatters' in the planes, flashes of iridescence or schillers are revealed. Labradorite is believed to stimulate inner awareness, release anxiety and inspire hope and happiness.
