Desert rose is the name given to rosette formations of crystal clusters of gypsum, baryte or selenite, which contain an abundance of sand grains. The rosette crystal habit tends to occur when the crystals form in arid sandy conditions, such as the evaporation of a shallow salt basin.

Calcium Sulfate, or satin spar, is formed due to evaporation along hot springs and clay. Selenite has a tabular crystal structure, with striations running its length. Also known as “Physical White Light”, Selenite is believed to cleanse and purify, provide clarity and protection. It is often used for its ability to charge and amplify your crystals; place your jewelry or crystals on Selenite overnight to recharge. You can also use these plates to create a crystal grid, as the selenite properties will amplify the power of your grid. Selenite is one of the few crystals that don’t require charging, and doesn’t like water. This Natural Selenite/Gypsum satin spar is ethically sourced from Morocco – approx 2-3cm long, forming in natural chunks.
